Notifications

What Bpanda reports to you, where you find it and when it becomes an email — personally or by subscription.

Bpanda reports events that concern you as a notification in the header. Anything you leave unread there, Bpanda summarizes once a day in an email; for a few urgent events, such as a job for you, it writes immediately.

Two kinds of notifications

  • Personal notifications you always receive, without doing anything for it: you are assigned a job, you are given a role, a review you take part in begins, the version of a process you are responsible for expires.
  • Subscribed notifications you receive for processes and reviews you have subscribed to: a new version is published, an attachment is added, someone asks a question, a Review Participant gives feedback.

A subscription comes about in two ways. Either you switch it on yourself, on the process page via the Turn on notification icon. Or Bpanda creates it for you: when you are given a role on a process, import a process or are assigned to a review as Review Owner or Review Participant. The subscription to a review ends with the review. A subscription you have ended is not recreated by Bpanda on its own, not even when your role changes.

Where you find them

The header shows you the number of unread notifications. A click opens the Notifications page with the Messages and Subscriptions tabs. Each notification links to the element it is about: the job, the review, the process.

When an email is added

Bpanda assumes that you are not logged in all the time. That is why it sends you an email once a day with all notifications of the day that you have not yet read, bundled per Process Space. For five events where waiting does harm, the email is also sent immediately: a job is assigned to you, a job can be taken, a review starts, a Review Owner writes to all participants, someone asks a question about a subscribed process. The rules in detail are in When you receive which notification.
