Adding a Relationship to Another Organizational Unit
Create, edit and delete further relationships between organizational units in addition to the hierarchical ones — for example a business cooperation.
A relationship is created on the organizational unit’s page in the Relationships to Other Organizational Units section. It connects units that are not superordinate or subordinate to each other and always uses a relationship type.
Prerequisites
You meet the prerequisites described in Managing the Organizational Structure.
You are on the Organization page.
At least one relationship type has been created. See Creating an Organization, Relationship or Role Type.
Context
A relationship always uses a relationship type. The type determines whether the relationship is directed or undirected and what it is called in each direction.
If no more relationship types are available, Bpanda displays the message: There are no further relationship types that can be added to this organizational unit.
How to Proceed
-
In the organizational structure, click the organizational unit.
The organizational unit’s page appears on the right.
-
To add a relationship, click the plus icon next to the section heading Relationships to Other Organizational Units.
The Add New Relationship dialog appears.
-
Select the relationship type and the organizational unit that the relationship is to be established with.
If the relationship already exists, Bpanda displays the message Relationship already assigned.
-
To confirm the changes, click OK.
The relationship appears in the Relationships to Other Organizational Units section.
-
To change an existing relationship, click Edit in the Submenu in its row.
-
To remove a relationship, click Delete in the Submenu in its row and confirm the Delete Relationship prompt.
The relationship is no longer available.
