Creating an Organization, Relation or Role Type
Create and translate types for organizational units, for relations between them and for roles.
Typing organizational units or roles serves to group them consistently.
Prerequisites
You meet the prerequisites from Defining Organization and Role Types.
You are on the Define Types page.
Context
Typing organizational units or roles serves to group these organizational components consistently.
If types are defined, organizational units and organizational roles must be assigned to a type when they are created. If the type structure is not yet complete, we recommend a “no type” type.
The Define Types page contains three lists: Organizational Unit Types, Relation Types Between Organizational Units and Role Types. Each has its own plus symbol. A relation type describes a relation between two organizational units A and B.
You always name the type in the modeling language. The language set for content in your profile is irrelevant here. See Defining Modeler Settings.
How to proceed
-
Next to Organizational Unit Types, Relation Types Between Organizational Units or Role Types, click the plus symbol.
The dialog for creating the type appears.
-
Enter the name of the type.
-
Only for a relation type: Define the direction.
For undirected, you enter a name under Name of the relation between A and B.
For a directed relation, you specify both directions: Name from A to B and Name from B to A.
-
To translate the name, click the translate symbol at the top right of the dialog. It only appears if the Process Space has at least two content languages.
The display switches to two-column mode.
-
Select the language from the selection list, enter the translation for the name and repeat the procedure to translate into further languages.
-
To confirm the changes, click OK.
The changes are saved and the dialog is closed.
