Assigning Organizational Units to an Employee

Set all the organizational units a user belongs to, starting from the user — the way to go when onboarding a new employee.

The assignment starts from the user here: you select a Bpanda user and set all organizational units for them at once. This is the way to go when you are classifying an individual person — for example, when onboarding a new employee. By default, the page only shows the users who are already assigned to an organizational unit.

Prerequisites

You meet the prerequisites from Managing Employees.

You are on the Organization page.

Context

Employees and their assignment to organizational units are managed in the Employees section on the Assigned Organizational Units page.

You can assign users to the existing organizational units.

The Type of Organizational Units filter is only offered if there are several types.

How to Proceed

  1. To display the Assigned Organizational Units page, click the entry of the same name in the Employees section.

By default, the users who are assigned to an organizational unit are displayed.

  2. To display unassigned users, click the filter icon and clear the Show assigned only check box.

All users are displayed, spread across several pages if applicable.

  3. To edit a user’s assignments, point to their row and click the framed person icon at the right end of the row. It only appears when the mouse pointer is over the row. The person icon to the left of the name, in contrast, is the user’s profile picture — it shows a placeholder as long as none is stored and cannot be clicked.

The Select organizational unit for dialog appears.

  4. To restrict the selectable units in the dialog, click the filter icon for the Type of Organizational Units filter or for the Organizational Unit filter and select the corresponding check boxes.

    The entries are restricted accordingly.

  5. To assign an organizational unit to the user, select its check box.

  6. To confirm the entries, click OK.

The assigned organizational units are updated for the user.
