Creating a Happy Path

As Process Designer, you can create the standard flow of a process as a Happy Path. Bpanda automatically creates the appropriate process diagram.

Prerequisites

You are assigned as Process Designer in the process space.

You have given the process draft a name and description.

Context

A Happy Path starts with creating an actual flow. A Happy Path is an easy and fast way to display the standard flow as a simple table. A process diagram is created at the same time; you can add to this in the Modeler at a later stage.

The Happy Path editor contains the following user areas:

You can assign tasks to various lanes in the Happy Path.

Your process draft will not be visible to others until you submit it. You can therefore edit and save it as much as you want before adding it.

How to proceed

  1. Once you have named, edited and saved a process draft as a process sketch, then click on the draft under Drafts.

The record mask for a process draft appears in the Happy Path section.

  2. If the record mask is still open for a new draft, then click on Use the 'Happy Path' first.

    The Happy Path section appears.

  3. To create a task, click on or use the menu.

A task row is added and the default name appears.

  4. Enter the task's name in the input field under Task.

The name appears in the diagram.

  5. Enter the task's description in the input field under Description.

  6. To assign a task to a lane, enter the owner's name in the input field under Responsibility (Lane).

The task is assigned to the lane in the diagram.

  7. To change the order of a task, move it with the mouse or with [Alt]+[Umschalt]+[Nach oben] or [Alt]+[Umschalt]+[Nach unten].

The task is moved. You cannot move start and end events.

  8. To save the Happy Path and respective diagram, click on  Save Draft.

The process draft is saved with the name you entered. A confirmation message appears.

  9. To add the process draft to the process space, click on Submit.

The Submit as Process Revision dialog appears.

The draft is saved to the process space with the name you entered.
