Creating a Happy Path
As
Prerequisites
You are assigned as
in the process space. You have given the process draft a name and description.
Context
A Happy Path starts with creating an actual flow. A Happy Path is an easy and fast way to display the standard flow as a simple table. A process diagram is created at the same time; you can add to this in the Modeler at a later stage.
The Happy Path editor contains the following user areas:

The toolbar contains general draft functions. Hovering the mouse pointer over an icon shows the function.

Print draft

Prerequisite:
Participants can only be added once the process draft has been saved.
Participants can only be added if they have modeling rights.
Only one participant can work on a draft at any one time. Two or more participants cannot work on a draft at the same time.
You can assign tasks to various lanes in the Happy Path.

The table consists of three columns.
-
The entry under
is shown as a task name in the diagram created at the same time. You should always use an activity as a task name. -
Describes the activity in more detail.
-
A lane represents responsibilities within a process, e.g. which roles or systems are used.
An entry creates a lane in the diagram. Lanes with the same name are merged into one lane.
Each process in the Happy Path editor has one start event and one end event. The start event is always in the first row of the table. The end event is always in the last row of the table.
You can assign a new task using the menu. You cannot move or delete start and end events.
You can also insert a table of up to three columns from Microsoft Word or Excel using the clipboard.

A process diagram for the Happy Path is also automatically created at the same time as the entries in the table.
Your process draft will not be visible to others until you submit it. You can therefore edit and save it as much as you want before adding it.
