Scope

This Privacy Policy can be used to inform the user about the scope and nature of the data gleaned and used by persons responsible.

The Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) and the Federal Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz) form the current legal framework on data protection.

General Data Collection

Information is automatically collected by us or the webspace provider every time our offers on the Internet are accessed. This information (also known as server log files) is of a general nature and does not contain any private details about a person.

This information is technically required so that website content can be properly displayed. This makes data collection mandatory. We also use the anonymous information for statistical purposes. You are helping us to improve our offers and processes.

We reserve the right to monitor the log files if justifiable suspicions concerning legal action regarding our offers arise.

Processing Personal Data

Personal data includes information about a person which clearly distinguishes them from someone else. This includes data which can be traced back to a specific person.

Personal data includes e.g. a person's first name, last name, telephone number and e-mail address.

This data will only be gleaned, used and passed on as required, if the law expressly allows this or the user consents to data being gleaned, processed, used and disclosed.

Registration at MID

Personal contact and communication data will be gleaned depending on what the user has registered for (download, newsletter, access to customer area etc.). This information includes name and e-mail address as the bare minimum, as well as possibly address, company name and telephone number.

Registration allows access to services and content that is only available to registered users. Registered users may change or delete the information they supplied upon registration at any time.

Upon request, we will of course provide you with specifics about which personal data has been stored. We will also amend or delete the data upon request, as long as this does not infringe any legal requirements. Please use the contact information provided in this privacy notice to contact us with any queries you may have or to amend or delete your data.

Contact Form

The information provided by you when you contact us using an online form or via e-mail is stored so that we can respond to your query and any other queries which may arise.

Integration of Services and Third Party Information

Our offer includes third party content and services. These may include maps provided by Google Maps, videos from YouTube, as well as images and photos from other websites. We require an IP address to be able to access this data in the user's browser so that this information can be shown. The provider (from now on referred to as "third party") exercises its rights to the respective user's IP address.

Although we always endeavor to only use third parties which only use IP address information in order to provide information, we cannot stop them from storing this information. This process is considered data collection. We will inform the user as soon as we know that the IP address has been stored.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. These are text files which are stored by the server on your computer. They contain information about the browser, IP address, operating system and Internet connection. This information is not passed on to third parties or collected alongside your personal data.

Cookies primarily fulfill two tasks: They help us to improve your navigation through our services and to display the website properly. They are not used to introduce a virus into the system or to start programs.

Users may also access our services without using cookies if they so wish. You must make the appropriate setting changes in your browser to do so. Use your browser's Help function to find out how to deactivate cookies. However, we would like to inform you that some of our website functions and user convenience may be impaired through this.

You can manage the way cookies are used online on the http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (USA) and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ (Europe) sites.

Server Log Files

Our website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called log files which your browser then transmits to our company. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Computer host name
  • Time of server request

This data cannot be linked to specific individuals. This information is not consolidated with other data sources. We reserve the right to monitor data retrospectively in so far as we ascertain concrete grounds of unlawful use.

Google Web Fonts

Our website uses web fonts provided by Google to ensure standardized font display. When a site is accessed, your browser loads the necessary web fonts into your browser cache so that text and fonts can be correctly displayed.

The browser you use needs to connect to the Google servers to be able to do this. Google is informed that our website was accessed via your IP address. Google web fonts are used so as to ensure our online offers are portrayed in a uniform and visually attractive manner. This represents a legitimate interest in accordance with article. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO dar.

Your computer will use a default font if your browser does not support web fonts.

You can find more information about Google web fonts under https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Using Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". These are text files which are stored on your computer and analyze how you use the website. Information about how you use our websites created by the cookie is normally transferred to a Google server in the USA. These websites use IP anonymity. For this reason, Google will truncate your IP address within European Union member states or in other contracting states in the European Economic Area. Full IP addresses are rarely sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

Google uses this information on behalf of website operators to assess how their websites are used, to compile website activity reports and to provide further services regarding website and Internet use. The IP address communicated via your browser within the framework of Google Analytics will not be associated with other data held by Google. You can prevent cookie storage by making appropriate settings in your browser software. However, please be aware that you may then not be able to use all website functions in their entirety.

You can prevent Google receiving information created by the cookie about your website use (incl. IP address) by downloading and installing the available browser plug-in by clicking on the following link: Browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics.

Google Analytics Demographics

Our websites use the demographic data function provided by Google Analytics. This enables reports about site users' age, gender and interests to be created.

This information is compiled using interest-based advertising provided by Google and user information from third parties. This information is non-specific. You can deactivate this function via your display settings in your Google account or prohibit your data being collected by Google Analytics - as described in "Opposition of Data Collection".

You can find more information about terms of use and data protection under http://www.google.com/analytics/terms.html or https://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/.
