Assigning a Process to a Hierarchy Element

Imported processes need to be assigned to a hierarchy element so that they are available for linking in the process map.

Prerequisites

You are BPM Manager.

Context

The hierarchy elements for the levels in the process map are managed in the Process Hierarchy tab on the Manage Process Space page. Each hierarchy element is either grouped with other hierarchy elements or on the lowest level of the processes.

Imported processes need to be assigned to a hierarchy element so that they are available for linking.

You can see the list of hierarchy elements on the left-hand side; these are indented according to levels and processes which have already been assigned.

Processes which have not yet been assigned are shown on the right-hand side.

Both lists are alphabetically sorted.

How to proceed

  1. Select Manage Process Space in the main menu.

    The page for managing the process space appears with the Process Hierarchy tab.

  2. Drag the process and drop it on the hierarchy element to assign it.

    The process is inserted below the hierarchy element.

  3. Repeat step 2 to assign further processes.

  4. Click on Save to confirm the changes to the process hierarchy.
