## Process-Specific Responsibilities [#process-specific-responsibilities]

Bpanda is based on a clear role concept that governs rights and permissions. A process-specific responsibility gives a Bpanda role in a process a more precise name that expresses a particular competency. The role concept itself remains unchanged. **Process Owners**, for example, can be differentiated into **Process Owner** and **Process Manager**, or into business and technical owners.

**BPM Managers** manage the responsibilities in a list. **Process Owners** and **BPM Managers** assign them within a process: to Process Owners (users only) and Process Contributors (users, groups, organizational units or organizational roles). The responsibility then appears next to the entry.

A responsibility always applies to one process only. If someone has the same responsibility in several processes, you assign it to them individually in each of these processes. If you have already maintained responsibilities on processes in Innovator, these are of course imported when the processes are imported into Bpanda.

## Creating Responsibilities [#creating-responsibilities]

### Prerequisites [#prerequisites]

You are a **BPM Manager**.

### Context [#context]

Here you create the responsibilities that give the Bpanda roles **Process Owner** or **Process Contributor** a more precise name in a process, for example based on a particular competency or a naming convention.

### How to Proceed [#how-to-proceed]

1. In the main menu, select **Settings** and then **Manage Process Space**.

The page of the same name appears. You are on the **Process Hierarchy** tab.
2. Switch to the **Responsibilities** tab.
3. To name and describe a responsibility, click the plus icon in the **Process-Specific Responsibilities** section.

The **Add New Process-Specific Responsibility** dialog appears.
4. Enter the name of the responsibility.
5. To translate the name, click the toggle icon at the top right of the dialog. It only appears if the process space has at least two content languages.

The display switches to two-column mode.
6. Select the language in the selection list, enter the translation for the name and repeat the process to translate into further languages.
7. To confirm the name, click **Save**.

The responsibility is sorted alphabetically into the list.
8. To describe the responsibility, click ⋮ **Edit** in the entry.

The page for the responsibility appears.
9. To edit the description of the responsibility, click **Add a description here.**

The page section for editing and translating the description appears.
10. To enter or change the description, click in the text field.
11. To translate the description, click the toggle icon to the right of the **Descriptions** heading. It only appears if the process space has at least two content languages.

The display switches to two-column mode.
12. Select the target language, enter the translation for the description and repeat the process to translate into further languages.
13. To confirm the changes, click **OK**.
14. To return to the list, click **Manage Process Space** in the breadcrumb navigation.

The list of process-specific responsibilities appears.

## Assigning Responsibilities [#assigning-responsibilities]

### Prerequisites [#prerequisites-1]

You are a **Process Owner** or **BPM Manager**.

At least one **Process Owner** or one **Process Contributor** is assigned to the process.

### Context [#context-1]

You assign responsibilities to entries that are assigned to the process as **Process Owners** (users only) or as **Process Contributors** (users, groups, organizational units or organizational roles). The responsibility then appears next to the entry.

Restriction: A responsibility only applies in the process in which you assign it.

### How to Proceed [#how-to-proceed-1]

1. On the process page, click ⋮ **Settings and Information**.

The dialog of the same name appears.
2. Click **Roles and Permissions**.

The page displays the **Process Owners**, **Process Contributors**, **Process Participants** and **Blocked Users** sections.
3. To assign a responsibility to an entry in the **Process Owners** or **Process Contributors** section, click the icon with the person and gear in its row. The icon only appears if there are responsibilities in the process space.

The **Select Responsibilities for [Name]** dialog appears.
4. To select a responsibility for the entry, activate the check box.
5. To remove a responsibility, deactivate the selection.
6. To confirm the process-related selection for the entry, click **OK**.

The assigned responsibility appears next to the entry.
