The account management is a separate application alongside Bpanda. It determines who can use Bpanda at all and who is allowed to model in the Process Space. You can work in it as the **Account Manager** of your account.

## Opening the account management [#opening-the-account-management]

1. In the main menu, select **Settings** and then **Manage Account**. If you are not a BPM Manager at the same time, **Manage Account** is located directly in the main menu.

The account management opens in a new tab.
2. Enter your e-mail address and click **Login**.

If you are already logged in to Bpanda, the account management no longer asks for a password.

The page shows your account in two tabs: **Account** with licenses, Account Managers, Account Users and Groups, **Process Space** with the Process Designers and BPM Managers.

If you are not an Account Manager, the account management only shows you your own profile with the licenses that are assigned to you. If you call up the management of your account anyway, **No access to account. Please contact an account manager.** appears.

**Note**: The account management appears in the language you have chosen in your profile. If you have not chosen one there, it is in English. You set your language via the user menu in Bpanda: **Profile**, then **Manage Profile**, field **Select a language**. The new language applies from your next login to the account management.

## What a license allows and what an authorization allows [#what-a-license-allows-and-what-an-authorization-allows]

Every user needs a **Bpanda** license. With it, they can read the Process Space and collaborate: ask and answer questions, take part in reviews, take on responsibility for processes or architecture elements.

They cannot model with the license alone. For that, you make them a **Process Designer** in the account management. Only a Process Designer can become a **BPM Manager**.

It is best not to assign licenses and authorizations individually, but via **Groups**. If the groups come from your directory service, for example from Microsoft Entra ID, the rest happens automatically: whoever is added to a group there receives its licenses and authorizations. Whoever leaves the group loses them again.

## What happens there and what happens in the Process Space [#what-happens-there-and-what-happens-in-the-process-space]

The distinction is important because the same terms occur in both places:

- **In the account management**, users are added to the account and equipped with licenses. There you also determine who is a **Process Designer** and who is a **BPM Manager**.
- **In the Process Space**, you invite these users and assign them the remaining Bpanda roles. You can only invite people who already exist in the account.
