Creating a template for risks and opportunities

As a Risk Manager, create a template that is available to Process Owners when they record risks and opportunities.

Templates standardize the recording of risks and opportunities. As a Risk Manager, you create them in the Templates tab.

Prerequisites

You are a Risk Manager or BPM Manager.

You are in the Templates tab.

Context

Note: Process Owners can also save templates on the process page.

How to proceed

  1. Click Create new template.

The dialog of the same name appears.

The toggle is set to Risk.

  2. To record a template for an opportunity, click Opportunity in the toggle.

  3. Enter the Title and a Description of the risk or opportunity.

  4. Under Possible effects, describe the specific effects.

  5. For a risk, select the Risk category from the drop-down list.

  6. Click Identifier and select the person or organizational unit that discovered the risk or opportunity.

  7. Click Responsible and select the person who is responsible for the risk or opportunity.

  8. Assess the Probability of occurrence and the Extent of damage (for a risk) or the Extent of success (for an opportunity) using the drop-down lists, or alternatively using Advanced editing in the assessment matrix.

The priority of the risk or opportunity is determined automatically based on the selected probability of occurrence and extent.

  9. Click Create template.

The template is saved and the dialog is closed.
