You always move elements and processes to another hierarchy element. You cannot change the order under a hierarchy element, because Bpanda groups the elements and processes there automatically and sorts them alphabetically. An assignment made using drag and drop only takes effect once you confirm it with **Save**.

## Prerequisites [#prerequisites]

You are a **BPM Manager**.

You are on the **Manage Process Space** page in the **Process Hierarchy** tab.

## Context [#context]

Elements (including their sub-elements) and processes in the process hierarchy can be moved to other hierarchy elements using drag and drop. The possible insertion points are indicated by the note Insert here**↓**.

Elements or processes cannot be moved within a parent hierarchy element, as they are grouped automatically and sorted alphabetically.

## How to proceed [#how-to-proceed]

1. To assign an element to another element in the process hierarchy, click the element, move it to the target element and release it.

   The element is placed at the target element and the **Discard changes** and **Save** commands are enabled.
2. To move further elements, repeat the step.
3. To confirm the assignments, click **Save**.

   The assignments are saved and the buttons are disabled.
