Design a Process
To record a process in Bpanda, you create a process draft.
In the draft, you model and maintain all relevant information before you submit the process. As long as it is a draft, only its Participants can see it; once submitted, it becomes a revision and goes through the approval process.
Prerequisites
You are a Designer.
How to proceed
-
In the sidebar, select + and then Process.
- or -
If you already have drafts, you will find them on the home page under Relevant for me > Drafts; there you can create another one in the Processes tab with the Create new draft tile.
The draft page for processes opens in the Overview tab.
-
Name the process. To do so, select the edit icon to the right of the default name “Unnamed process” and assign a name. Make sure the process has a unique name so that you can find it more easily later, especially via the search.
Overview tab
In the Overview tab, you can add a process description, Process Owners, attachments or linked architecture elements to your process.
For a new process, you define the Process Owners while it is still a draft, using the edit icon in the Process Owners section. That way you do not have to add them only after submitting. If the draft is a new version of an existing process, the owners are taken from that process. The icon in the section then opens the process’s roles page, see Appointing a Process Owner.
Note: You can only add linked architecture elements after the process has been named and saved. You can find more information about linked architecture elements here: Linked Architecture Elements & Relation Types
You can save your draft with the save icon. The ⋮ three-dot menu offers you further settings options for your process.
Once a process draft has been saved, you will find it under Drafts.
You can submit your process draft with Submit. From then on, the submitted process appears under Relevant processes and no longer under Drafts.
Diagram tab
In the Diagram tab, you can choose between the Happy Path and the Modeler to create a diagram for your process draft. You can also switch between the two at any point later in the creation process.
You can find more information about the Happy Path here: Creating a Happy Path
You can find more information about the Modeler here: Creating a Process Diagram with the Modeler
