Where you click determines the level: the plus icon at the bottom right of the **Organizational Structure** section creates a unit on the top level, **Add Organizational Unit** in the ⋮ **submenu** of an existing unit creates it below that unit. Both ways open the same **Add New Organizational Unit** dialog.

## Prerequisites [#prerequisites]

You meet the prerequisites from [Managing the Organizational Structure](/en/organization/manage-org-structure).

You are on the **Organization** page.

**Allow Restructuring** is deactivated.

## Context [#context]

You always name the unit in the modeling language. The language set for content in your profile is irrelevant here. See [Specifying Modeler Settings](/en/settings/manage-process-space/manage-modeler-preferences).

Organizational units can be marked as external, e.g. insurance companies, banks.

Every organizational unit requires a **Type of Organizational Units**. Bpanda suggests one, and you can change it in the dialog.

## How to proceed [#how-to-proceed]

1. To create an organizational unit on the top level, click the plus icon at the bottom right of the **Organizational Structure** section.

The **Add New Organizational Unit** dialog appears.
2. To create an organizational unit on the next sublevel of an existing organizational unit, navigate to the organizational unit and click **Add Organizational Unit** in the ⋮ **submenu**.

The **Add New Organizational Unit** dialog appears.
3. Enter the name of the organizational unit.
4. In the **Type of Organizational Units** selection list, select the organization type of the organizational unit.
5. To mark the organizational unit as an external unit, activate **External**.
6. To translate the name, click the toggle icon at the top right of the dialog. It only appears if the process space has at least two content languages.

The display switches to two-column mode.
7. In the selection list, select the language, enter the translation for the name and repeat the process to translate into further languages.
8. To confirm the changes, click **OK**.

The changes are saved and the dialog is closed.
