Executing and completing a work step

Take over a work step from the checklist, execute it and mark it as done.

You select the work step in order to execute it and complete it after execution. Mark it as done afterwards so that the other participants can see which steps of the job have already been completed.

Prerequisites

You can select the work step because it is assigned to your area of responsibility (lane) or to no area of responsibility.

Context

If several employees are assigned to a work step, the Take over job button appears first.

Attachments or descriptions may contain information relevant to you.

On a small screen, for example on a smartphone, the job page moves closer together: you open the graphical display in full screen via the Visualise steps bar at the bottom edge, and the selection of the next steps, the job details and the attachments via the Select next steps / Details bar at the right-hand edge. Once the job is completed, this bar is only called Details.

How to proceed

  1. To take over a work step, click the <Work Step> in the job’s checklist.

The takeover is logged in the job log (Started: ‘<Work Step>’).

In the graphical display, the work step is outlined in green and your profile photo is shown.

If Attachments or Descriptions exist for the work step, the corresponding icons appear.

  2. To mark a work step as done, click the Done icon at the bottom of the job log or in the checklist.

The work step is logged as completed and marked as done in the checklist in italics.

In the graphical display, the work step is coloured green and your profile photo is shown at the next step.
